Turtagrø Hotel has traditions dating back to the 1880s. This hotel is located 884 meters above sea level, at the foot of Vest-Jotunheimen.In the historic Swiss villa from 1880, you live in the same building as famous climbing pioneers from the end of the 19th century. The main house from 2002 was designed by architects Jarmund and Vigsnæs, and has been awarded for good architecture. It has modern rooms, a restaurant, lounge and a mountain library. WiFi is free.This is a fantastic location with some of the more interesting hiking and climbing routes in Norway, near the Jotunheimen Nasjonalpark. We choose the accomodation in the "Swiss chalet" and this allow us to save a lot of money :-) without losing the magnificence of the place and additional services provided by the hotel like for example the very good dinner (one of the best we have in Norway).The Chalet is really beautiful and extremely functional. Clean and full of services, like the shower and the drying room.
