Located by the lake of the Santa Clara Dam, Poioruivo is a wooden bungalow that offers a private beach area and a terrace with panoramic view of the surrounding landscape. Free WiFi is available.Poioruivo includes a double bedroom, a twin bedroom and a bathroom with a shower. The living area features a fully equipped kitchenette, a satellite TV, heating, a dining area and a sofa bed.The place is beautiful and silent. At night, the light pollution is low enough that you can actually see the stars. The water in the lake was wonderful throughout my stay, certainly warmer than Portuguese beaches. The houses are not as stuffy as expected. The best part is indeed the owners and hosts, Alipio and Maria, who are there to help you with whatever you need.Be forewarned, the place is really isolated. In each house there is phone reception and wifi and everything you need to cook. If need be, you can arrange to have someone buy you groceries in the nearby town and take them to. As such, you should expect to take your car there and have it stay there while you hike around the area or enjoy the isolation and peace of mind. I intend to return to do just that.
